I. Product Definition and Core Positioning

The plate condenser is a new type of high-efficiency condensing equipment based on the "laminated thin-plate heat exchange" technology. Essentially, it is a subdivided application category of plate heat exchangers. Through a special structural design, it enhances heat exchange between hot and cold media. Its core function is to meet the demand for "cooling and condensing gaseous media" in industrial and civil scenarios (such as steam condensation, process tail gas cooling and recovery, etc.). With its high-efficiency heat transfer characteristics, it has become one of the important alternative solutions to shell-and-tube condensers.

II. Structural Design and Working Principle

1. Core Structural Components

The plate condenser takes a "modular thin-plate assembly" as its core. The key structures and their functions are as follows:


  • Corrugated Metal Plates: As the core heat exchange elements, they are thin metal sheets with specific corrugated shapes (such as herringbone, horizontal straight, and nodular). When stacked, they form dense thin rectangular channels, greatly expanding the heat transfer contact area;
  • Plate Stacking Structure: Multiple corrugated metal plates are stacked at fixed intervals. Independent thin rectangular flow channels are formed between adjacent plates. Hot and cold media flow in different channels respectively, and heat transfer is achieved through the plates;
  • Frame/Sealing System: Divided into frame-type (detachable, including clamping bolts and sealing gaskets for easy maintenance) and brazed-type (non-detachable, sealed by brazing with higher temperature and pressure resistance) according to types. It ensures the flow channels are sealed and leak-proof, preventing medium cross-flow.

2. Condensation Working Process

  1. Medium Distribution: The hot medium to be condensed (e.g., high-temperature gaseous fluid) and the cooling medium (e.g., low-temperature water) enter their dedicated flow channels of the equipment respectively. The hot medium flows through one side of the plates, and the cooling medium flows through the other side;
  2. High-Efficiency Heat Transfer: The design of thin rectangular channels shortens the heat transfer distance between hot and cold media. Combined with corrugated plates to enhance fluid turbulence, heat transfer efficiency is improved — the hot medium quickly releases heat through the plates, and its temperature drops below the condensation point, converting from a gaseous state to a liquid state;
  3. Completion of Condensation: The condensed liquid medium is discharged from the equipment outlet, and the cooling medium absorbs heat and its temperature rises. This achieves the dual effect of "hot medium condensation + cooling medium temperature rise" and completes the condensation operation.

III. Recommended Application Scenarios

Based on its core advantages of "high-efficiency heat transfer and compact structure", the plate condenser is widely suitable for medium-low temperature and medium-low pressure condensation scenarios. Typical applications include:


  1. Industrial Manufacturing Field: Condensation and recovery of process tail gas in chemical production, cooling and condensation of lubricating oil for mechanical processing equipment, and heat dissipation and condensation of components in the electronics industry;
